BTEC Level 2 Award: What's involved?

The BTEC Level 2 Award: Demonstrate Safe Driving (Car Driver) is available to anyone taking driving lessons with Steve, or who has passed their test within the last 2 years*.

For people learning with Steve, your lessons will count towards your BTEC Award. As you progress, Steve will record each time you attain one of the BTEC requirements.

Passing your Theory and Practical Tests are part of the qualification process. You will need a photocopy of your Theory Test Pass Certificate (if you've already surrendered it, you can obtain a duplicate one from the DSA). You will also need to provide a photocopy of your Full Driving Licence.

You will also need to complete 2 Workbooks and have your driving assessed at least once before, and at least once after, your Practical Test.

The fee includes your Registration with EdExcel, printed Workbooks, Administration costs and your Certificate. Driving Assessments completed before your Practical Test will take place during your regular driving lessons, so will not incur any extra cost.

The post test Assessment includes motorway driving, so you will need to book some motorway tuition at our normal rates prior to your Assessment. The post test Assessment lasts 2 hours; the cost of this is not included in the fee.

* If you have already passed your test, you will need to obtain a copy of your Theory Test Pass Certificate and provide evidence of previous driving lessons. Contact Steve for further information.
